Islamabad, 2 September 2026: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has congratulated the nation on Pakistan formally assuming the Rotating Chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Heads of State for the 2026–27 term, describing it as a landmark diplomatic achievement and a matter of great pride for the entire nation. 

 

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that Pakistan assuming the rotating chairmanship of one of the major regional organisations and its city of Lahore receiving the status of the SCO Tourism and Cultural Capital for 2026-2027 reflects the growing confidence of the international community in Pakistan and marks a significant milestone in the country’s diplomatic journey. 

 

NA Speaker paid glowing tribute to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for his visionary leadership and proactive diplomatic engagements, which have contributed significantly towards strengthening Pakistan’s position and stature at the global level. 

 

NA Speaker further lauded Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and the country’s military leadership for their concerted diplomatic and strategic efforts, which have earned Pakistan another significant honour at the international level. He said that the decision of the Strategic Political and Defence Committee, established under the Makkah Agreement for Joint Defence, to appoint the first Secretary-General of the Secretariat of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement from Pakistan for a three-year term was a clear manifestation of the confidence reposed in Pakistan’s leadership and its constructive role in promoting collective defence and security cooperation among Muslim countries.

 

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that Pakistan’s SCO Chairmanship Theme, “Turning Vision into Action: Connectivity, Innovation and Shared Prosperity,” aptly reflects the country’s commitment to translating collective aspirations into practical cooperation among SCO member states. He added that Pakistan would have an important opportunity to play a leading role in promoting regional cooperation, peace, connectivity, innovation and shared prosperity.

 

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq further said that the forthcoming SCO Council of Heads of State Summit, to be hosted by Pakistan in Islamabad in 2027, would provide a historic opportunity to showcase Pakistan’s hospitality, diplomatic capabilities and firm commitment to regional peace, connectivity and sustainable development.

اسلام آباد، 2 ستمبر 2026ء: اسپیکر قومی اسمبلی سردار ایاز صادق نے پاکستان کو شنگھائی تعاون تنظیم (ایس سی او) کی کونسل آف ہیڈز آف اسٹیٹ 2026-27ء کی صدارت سنبھالنے پر قوم کو مبارکباد پیش کرتے ہوئے اسے ایک اہم سفارتی کامیابی اور پوری قوم کے لیے باعثِ فخر قرار دیا ہے۔

 

اسپیکر سردار ایاز صادق نے کہا کہ پاکستان کا خطے کی اہم تنظیم شنگھائی تعاون تنظیم کی صدارت سنبھالنا اور لاہور کو 2026-27ء کے لیے ایس سی او کا سیاحتی و ثقافتی دارالحکومت قرار دیا جانا عالمی برادری کے پاکستان پر بڑھتے ہوئے اعتماد کا مظہر ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ یہ سفارتی کامیابیاں پاکستان کے سفارتی میدان میں ابھرتے ہوئے تشخص اور عالمی برادری کے بڑھتے ہوئے اعتماد کی دلیل ہیں۔

 

اسپیکر سردار ایاز صادق نے وزیراعظم محمد شہباز شریف کی مدبرانہ قیادت اور فعال سفارت کاری کو خراجِ تحسین پیش کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ وزیراعظم کی قیادت اور متحرک سفارتی کاوشوں نے عالمی سطح پر پاکستان کے مقام اور وقار کو مستحکم کرنے میں اہم کردار ادا کیا ہے۔

 

اسپیکر قومی اسمبلی سردار ایاز صادق نے وزیراعظم محمد شہباز شریف، نائب وزیراعظم و وزیر خارجہ محمد اسحاق ڈار اور چیف آف ڈیفنس فورسز فیلڈ مارشل سید عاصم منیر کی مشترکہ سفارتی و تزویراتی کاوشوں کو سراہتے ہوئے کہا کہ مکہ معاہدہ برائے مشترکہ دفاع کے تحت قائم اسٹریٹجک پولیٹیکل اینڈ ڈیفنس کمیٹی کی جانب سے مکہ جوائنٹ ڈیفنس ایگریمنٹ سیکرٹریٹ کے پہلے سیکرٹری جنرل کے طور پر پاکستان سے تین سالہ مدت کے لیے تقرری کا فیصلہ عالمی سطح پر پاکستان کی قیادت پر اعتماد کا مظہر ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ یہ فیصلہ مسلم ممالک کے درمیان اجتماعی دفاع و سلامتی کے شعبوں میں تعاون کے فروغ کے لیے پاکستان کے مؤثر اور تعمیری کردار کا اعتراف بھی ہے۔

 

اسپیکر سردار ایاز صادق نے کہا کہ پاکستان کی ایس سی او صدارت کا موضوع ’’ویژن کو عملی جامہ پہنانا: روابط کا فروغ، جدت اور مشترکہ خوشحالی‘‘ رکن ممالک کے درمیان مشترکہ امنگوں کو عملی تعاون میں ڈھالنے کے پاکستان کے عزم کی بھرپور عکاسی کرتا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ایس سی او کی صدارت پاکستان کو علاقائی تعاون، امن، رابطہ سازی، جدت اور مشترکہ خوشحالی کے فروغ میں مؤثر اور قائدانہ کردار ادا کرنے کا اہم موقع فراہم کرے گی۔

 

اسپیکر سردار ایاز صادق نے مزید کہا کہ 2027ء میں اسلام آباد میں پاکستان کی میزبانی میں منعقد ہونے والا ایس سی او کونسل آف ہیڈز آف اسٹیٹ سربراہی اجلاس پاکستان کی مہمان نوازی، سفارتی صلاحیتوں اور علاقائی امن، رابطہ سازی اور پائیدار ترقی کے لیے پاکستان کے پختہ عزم کو دنیا کے سامنے اجاگر کرنے کا ایک تاریخی موقع فراہم کرے گا۔
