Inclusive policies, awareness and collective efforts essential to address population challenges: Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq

 

Islamabad, July 10, 2026: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has emphasized that empowering people, particularly the youth, and adopting inclusive, forward-looking policies are essential for transforming demographic challenges into opportunities for sustainable development and national progress.

 

In his message on the occasion of World Population Day, observed globally on 11 July, the Speaker highlighted this year’s theme, “Realizing the hopes and aspirations of young people – today and for the future,” and stated that the empowerment of youth through quality education, accessible healthcare, skills development and meaningful employment opportunities is vital for building a prosperous and resilient Pakistan. 

 

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that the observance of this day aims to raise awareness about population-related challenges, highlight the importance of sustainable development, and encourage collective efforts to ensure a better future for all. He said that Pakistan, being among the world’s most populous countries with a significant population growth rate, faces considerable challenges in ensuring adequate provision of education, healthcare, housing and employment opportunities. He emphasized that these challenges can be effectively addressed through strategic policymaking, human capital development and by harnessing the potential of the country’s young population.

 

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq stressed that addressing population-related challenges requires a coordinated approach involving Parliament, the government, provincial administrations, civil society, academia, religious scholars, media and all segments of society. He underscored the importance of creating greater awareness, particularly at the grassroots level, to promote informed decision-making and encourage collective responsibility towards sustainable development.

 

The Speaker further stated that Parliament remains committed to supporting initiatives and legislative measures aimed at promoting social inclusion, improving public services and ensuring sustainable development for present and future generations. He expressed confidence that through collective efforts, Pakistan can achieve balanced growth, economic stability and enhanced opportunities for its people.

 

Deputy Speaker National Assembly Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, in his message, stated that balanced population growth is closely linked with economic progress, social well-being and effective delivery of public services. He emphasized that strengthening education, healthcare facilities and employment opportunities, especially for young people, is essential to enable them to play a meaningful role in the country’s development.

 

The Deputy Speaker stressed that addressing population challenges requires long-term strategies, effective institutions and collective national commitment. He reaffirmed that Parliament will continue to support efforts aimed at ensuring sustainable development and improving the quality of life of the people of Pakistan.

اسلام آباد، 10 جولائی 2026: اسپیکر قومی اسمبلی سردار ایاز صادق نے کہا ہے کہ آبادی میں تیزی سے ہونے والے اضافے سے پیدا ہونے والے چیلنجز سے مؤثر انداز میں نمٹنے کے لیے جامع منصوبہ بندی، آگاہی اور تمام طبقات کی مشترکہ کوششیں ضروری ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ملکی ترقی اور خوشحالی کے لیے ضروری ہے کہ ہر فرد کو مساوی مواقع فراہم کیے جائیں اور نوجوانوں کی صلاحیتوں کو مثبت سمت میں بروئے کار لایا جائے۔ انہوں نے ان خیالات کا اظہار عالمی یومِ آبادی کے موقع پر اپنے پیغام میں کیا جو ہر سال 11 جولائی کو اقوامِ متحدہ کے زیرِ اہتمام دنیا بھر میں منایا جاتا ہے۔ 

 

اسپیکر سردار ایاز صادق نے کہا کہ عالمی یومِ آبادی کو منانے کا مقصد آبادی سے متعلق چیلنجز کے بارے میں آگاہی پیدا کرنا، پائیدار ترقی کے حصول کے لیے کوششوں کو فروغ دینا اور بہتر مستقبل کے لیے اجتماعی اقدامات کی اہمیت کو اجاگر کرنا ہے۔ انہوں نے اس سال کے موضوع "نوجوانوں کی امیدوں اور امنگوں کو آج اور مستقبل کے لیے حقیقت کا روپ دینا" کا حوالہ دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ نوجوان کسی بھی ملک کا قیمتی اثاثہ ہوتے ہیں، انہیں معیاری تعلیم، بہتر صحت کی سہولیات، ہنر مندی کے مواقع اور باعزت روزگار کی فراہمی کے ذریعے ملک کی ترقی میں مؤثر شراکت دار بنایا جا سکتا ہے۔

 

اسپیکر سردار ایاز صادق نے کہا کہ پاکستان دنیا کے ان ممالک میں شامل ہے جہاں آبادی میں تیزی سے اضافہ ہو رہا ہے، جو ملک کے محدود وسائل، تعلیمی و طبی سہولیات، روزگار کے مواقع اور بنیادی خدمات پر اضافی دباؤ کا باعث بنتا جارہا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ان مسائل کے حل کے لیے دور رس پالیسیوں، مؤثر اقدامات اور دستیاب وسائل کے بہتر استعمال کی ضرورت ہے تاکہ آبادی کو ملک کی ترقی کے لیے ایک مثبت قوت بنایا جا سکے۔

 

اسپیکر قومی اسمبلی نے کہا کہ آبادی کے مسئلے سے نمٹنے کے لیے معاشرے کے تمام طبقات کو اپنا کردار ادا کرنے کی ضرورت ہے۔ انہوں نے سول سوسائٹی، میڈیا، علماء کرام اور اسکالرز کو آبادی میں تیزی سے اضافے پر قابو پانے کے لیے عوام میں شعور و آگاہی پیدا کرنے کے لیے موثر کردار ادا کرنے پر زور دیا۔

 

اسپیکر قومی اسمبلی نے کہا کہ پارلیمان عوامی فلاح، سماجی ترقی اور بہتر مستقبل کے لیے موثر قانون سازی کرنے کے لیے پر عزم ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اجتماعی کوششوں کے ذریعے پائیدار ترقی، معاشی استحکام اور عوام کے معیار زندگی میں بہتری کے اہداف حاصل کیے جاسکتے ہیں۔

 

ڈپٹی اسپیکر قومی اسمبلی سید غلام مصطفیٰ شاہ نے عالمی یومِ آبادی کے موقع پر اپنے پیغام میں کہا کہ متوازن آبادی ملکی ترقی، معاشی استحکام اور عوام کو بنیادی سہولیات کی فراہمی کے لیے انتہائی اہم ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ نوجوانوں کو تعلیم، صحت اور روزگار کے بہتر مواقع فراہم کرکے انہیں ملک کی ترقی کا فعال حصہ بنایا جا سکتا ہے۔

 

ڈپٹی اسپیکر نے کہا کہ آبادی کے بڑھتے ہوئے چیلنجز سے نمٹنے کے لیے طویل المدتی حکمتِ عملی اور قومی سطح پر مشترکہ کوششوں کی ضرورت ہے۔ انہوں نے اس عزم کا اظہار کیا کہ پارلیمان عوامی فلاح اور پائیدار ترقی کے لیے تمام مثبت اقدامات کی حمایت جاری رکھے گی۔
