Standing Committee on Planning, Development and Special Initiatives meets.

Chairman of the Standing Committee on Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani, MNA, chaired a meeting of the Committee on Tuesday, 6 July 2026, in Karachi.

The meeting was attended by MNAs Mr. Zulfikar Bachani, Ms. Naz Baloch, Mr. Farhan Chishti, Ms. Akhtar Bibi, Makhdoom Syed Sami-ul-Hassan Gilani, Ms. Aasia Ishaque Siddiqui, Ms. Sofia Saeed Shah, Dr. Nafisa Shah, Dr. Sharmila Sahiba Faruqui Hashaam, Mr. Arshad Abdullah Vohra, and Mr. Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani.
 
The Committee deliberated on federal allocations under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for Sindh. Members reviewed the progress of several ongoing and delayed PSDP projects across the province, with particular focus on the Hyderabad–Sukkur (M-6) Motorway.
 
The Committee received detailed briefings on the status of development projects from the Federal Secretary for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Mr. Awais Sumra; Chairman of the Sindh Planning and Development Board, Mr. Najam Ahmed Shah; and senior officials of the National Highway Authority, Karachi Port Trust, the Sindh Local Government Department, and other relevant federal and provincial agencies.
