The Pakistan – Philippines Parliamentary Friendship Group (PFG) Holds Its First Briefing Session

The Pakistan – Philippines Parliamentary Friendship Group (PFG) convened its first meeting today, featuring briefing session from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Commerce. The session aimed to enhance parliamentary understanding and oversight of bilateral relations, trade and economic cooperation between Pakistan and Philippines.
The briefing session was well-attended by members of the Pak-Philippines PFG, who engaged in a fruitful discussion with the representatives from the Commerce and Foreign Ministries. The briefing was attended by MNAs, Ms. Shahida Rehmani, Ms. Asia Naz Tanoli, Ms. Nikhat Shakeel Khan, Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan (virtually), Ms. Sofia Saeed Shah (virtually) and chaired by Ms. Syeda Shehla Raza, Convener of the Pakistan – Philippines PFG.
The briefing, conducted by H.E. Dr. Imtiaz Ahmad Qazi Pakistan’s Ambassador to the Philippines, representatives from the Commerce and Foreign Ministries, provided an in-depth analysis of the current state of bilateral relations between Pakistan and the Philippines. The briefing highlighted the importance of parliamentary cooperation in strengthening bilateral relations. It was emphasized that regular exchanges between parliamentarians can help foster greater understanding and collaboration on issues of mutual interest.
Ms. Syeda Shehla Raza, Convener of the Pakistan – Philippines PFG, while giving her welcoming remarks, emphasized the importance of people-to-people exchanges and sustaining a firm momentum of high-level visit.
The Members of the Pakistan – Philippines PFG recommended that regular bilateral consultations be held to discuss issues of mutual concern and to identify opportunities for cooperation in areas such as trade, agriculture, education, and defense.
