Islamabad, 27th May 2024: Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, stated that 28th May 1998 marked the day when Pakistan became the world's 7th nuclear power. The nuclear tests were a clear message to the world that the country's defense was impregnable. The tests ensured the balance of power in the region. The great achievement was made possible by dedication of seasoned Pakistani scientists, skilled engineers, courageous armed forces, and the resolute political leadership. He made these remarks on the eve of Youm-e-Takbeer, which is celebrated with reverence and enthusiasm on 28th May of each year. 

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq expressed gratitude to former Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for his steadfast and courageous leadership in overseeing the atomic tests. He noted that Pakistan became a nuclear power under Sharif's prudent and fearless guidance, despite immense international pressure. The successful nuclear tests highlighted the capabilities of Pakistan to face challenges with grit. He reaffirmed that Pakistan would continue to progress towards becoming an invincible and developed nation under the present  leadership. He also emphasized on national unity and integrity for the country's development and prosperity.

He reaffirmed that the government parliament, and the people of the country would continue to take every step possible to safeguard the nation's sovereignty and independence.

Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah in his message on the occasion lauded the Pakistani scientists, engineers, and the political leaders who strengthened the nation's defence. He also paid rich tribute to Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto for laying foundation of the atomic program and support offered by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto to the then PM Nawaz Sharif in conducting the tests. He underscored that the people of Pakistan are fully capable of overcoming all challenges and excel in all fields.

اس موقع پر سردار ایاز صادق نے پاکستان مسلم لیگ (ن) کے قائد اور سابق وزیر اعظم میاں محمد نواز شریف کو خراج تحسین پیش کرتے ہوے کہا کہ میاں نواز شریف کی قیادت اور بصیرت کی بدولت پاکستان ایک جوہری طاقت بن کر ابھرا۔ ان کے جراتمندانہ فیصلے نے پاکستان کو عالمی سطح پر ایک مضبوط اور خودمختار قوم کے طور پر متعارف کرایا۔انہوں نے کہا کہ میاں نواز شریف نے بین الاقوامی دباؤ کے باوجود ملکی مفاد کو ترجیح دی۔ان کی قائدانہ صلاحیتوں اور قومی خدمت کے جذبے کو ہمیشہ یاد رکھا جائے گا۔انہوں نے کہا کہ کامیاب ایٹمی تجربات ہمارے سائنسدانوں، انجینئرز اور پاکستان کی مسلح افواج کی  صلاحیتوں کی عکاسی ہے۔انہوں نے ایٹمی پروگرام کے بانی شہید ذوالفقار علی بھٹو کو بھی خراج تحسین پیش کیا۔ 

اسپیکر نے اس اعتماد کا اظہار کیا وزیراعظم پاکستان میاں محمد شہباز شریف کی دانشمندانہ اور ترقی پسند قیادت میں ملک ترقی کے مزید منازل طے کر کے ایک ناقابل تسخیر معاشی طاقت بن کر ابھرے گا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ملک کو ترقی اور خوشحالی کی راہ پر گامزن کرنے کے لیے قومی یکجہتی، اتفاق رائے اور جدو جہد مسلسل وقت کی اہم ضرورت ہے۔انہوں نے اس عزم کا اعادہ کیا کہ ملک کی پارلیمان اور عوام ملک کی خودمختاری اور تحفظ کے لیے ہر ممکن اقدام اٹھائیں گے۔سپیکر نے وزیر اعظم میاں شہباز شریف کی طرف 28 مئی کے موقع پر پہلی بار عام تعطیل کے اعلان کو خوش آئند قرار دیا۔ 

 ڈپٹی اسپیکر قومی اسمبلی سید غلام مصطفیٰ شاہ  کہا ہے کہ پاکستانی قوم زندگی کے ہر شعبے میں سبقت لے جانے کی صلاحیت رکھتی ہے۔ 28 مئی 1998 کے دن کی اہمیت کو اجاگر کرتے ہوئے انہوں نے اس عزم کا اعادہ کیا کہ پوری قوم پاکستانی سائنسدانوں، انجینئرز اور اس کی باشعور سیاسی قیادت کی محنت، جدو جہد کو ہمیشہ یاد رکھے گی جنہوں نے اس قوم کو خود انحصاری اور خودمختاری کی راہ پر گامزن کیا۔انہوں نے کہا کہ موجودہ چیلنجز کا حل محنت اور مستقل مزاجی اور یگانگت میں مضمر ہے۔
