Islamabad, the 12th May, 2023: A meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges was held today at 2:00 p.m in the Constitution Room, Parliament House, Islamabad under the Chairmanship of Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon, MNA.  
On the Question of Privilege raised by Sheikh Rohale Asghar and Syed Agha Rafiullah, MNAs against different Federal Secretaries for not attending the proceedings of the National Assembly on 29th and 31st March, 2023 by Federal Secretaries of M/o Housing and Works, National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination and Religious Affairs & Inter-faith Harmony; the Committee after hearing reply from all concerned, disposed of the Question of Privilege with the direction to be careful in future.
On the Question of Privilege raised by Syed Agha Rafiullah, MNA regarding supply of incorrect reply to his Question No. 6 included in the list of un-starred Questions for 20th May, 2022 regarding departmental promotions of Associated Press of Pakistan (APP); the Committee pended the Question of Privilege with the direction to resolve the issues of the Hon. Mover and report to the Committee within fifteen days.
On (In Camera meeting) regarding considering the Bill on the Contempt of Majlis-e-Shoora (Parliament), the Committee pended the Bill till its next meeting. The Committee also recommended that the Special Invitees of today’s meeting may also attend the next meeting of the Committee on this Bill. The Committee also recommended that Mr. Muhammad Mohsin Leghari, MNA should also be invited as a Special Invitee on this agenda in the next meeting of the Committee.
On (In camera Meeting), the Question of Privilege raised by Mr. Mohsin Dawar, MNA regarding non-allowing the Hon. Member to travel abroad by the Director General, FIA and Secretary, Ministry of Interior; as the Hon. Mover could not attend the meeting, therefore, the Committee pended this Question of Privilege till its next meeting. However, the Committee exempted the M/o Foreign Affairs from the next meetings of the Committee on this Question of Privilege.
The Committee confirmed the minutes of its previous meetings of the Committee held on 2nd, 3rd and 4th May, 2023;
On any other item with permission of the Chair, the Committee directed that M.D/Chairman, Pakistan State Oil (PSO) should attend the next meeting of the Committee in person on the issues of the Hon. Committee Members with PSO.
