A six-member Pakistan Parliamentary delegation led by MNA Niaz Ahmed Jhakar is visiting Turkey

A six-member Pakistan Parliamentary delegation led by MNA Niaz Ahmed Jhakar is visiting Turkey as part of frequent high-level exchanges between Pakistan and Turkey on important bilateral and regional issues. The Pakistan Parliamentary delegation met with the H.E Prof. Dr. Mustsfa Sentop, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey at bureau of the Assembly Meeting Hall. MNA Mr. Faheem Khan, MNA Ms. Javaria Zafar Aheer and MNA Attaullah were present during the meeting.

H.E Prof. Dr. Mustafa Sentop, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey welcomed the Pakistan Parliamentary Delegation. He said that Turkey attaches great importance to its relations with Pakistan and desires to further strengthen it through people-to-people contact. He also said that Turkey has remained a strategic partner of Pakistan, and this visit will diversify its bilateral relations. In the regional context, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey underscored the importance Pakistan attached to a peaceful solution to the conflict in Afghanistan. He expressed that Turkey has openly supported Pakistan's stance on the Kashmir conflict.

Speaker of Turkish Assembly expressed its hearty appreciation of the stance of the Pakistani government over the Cyprus issue. Turkish Speaker told that Turkey would do its best to reestablish peace between the two warring states.

Head of Pakistan Parliamentary Delegation , Mr. Niaz Ahmed Jhaker said that Turkey has continued supporting Pakistan over the years, and the friendship between the two countries was historic. This history of Pakistan-Turkish relations is a story of concern and cooperation. He acknowledged Turkey's contribution during the war against terrorism. He thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for raising the voice of Kashmiris during his speech at UN General Assembly. He appreciated the role of Turkey's efforts to mediate between Russia and Ukraine and offered on several occasions to host talks at leaders' level or technical discussions. He acknowledged that meeting between foreign ministers of Ukraine, Russia and Turkey in Ankara would bring positive results.

The head of Pakistan Parliamentary delegation appreciated the support Turkey had always extended to Pakistan at international parliamentary forums and also acknowledged the outright support of Turkey on Kashmir. He expressed his deep concern over mounting Islamophobia in Western countries where Muslims are facing harassment and discrimination.

Mr. Niaz Ahmed admired  President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and  Prime Minister Imran Khan for raising their voices against the growing Islamophobia and discrimination against Muslims in those countries.
