Pakistan & Türkiye shares mutual goals of Democracy and regional Stability

NA Speaker attends Democracy and unity day celebrating Failed Military Coup attempt in Türkiye on 15th July 2016

Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that Pakistan and Türkiye have distinct history of shared religious and cultural traditions. He said that relations between both countries are interlinked in strong time immemorial religious and fraternal bonds. He also said that both countries share mutual goal of democracy and stability. He expressed these views on the occasion of celebrating 6th anniversary of the July 15th’s failed Coup attempt “Democracy and National unity day of Republic of Türkiye” in Islamabad today.

Speaker Raja Pervez Asharf while addressing the audience said that the day reminds us of the memorable victory of the Turkish democracy over the dark forces of regression and repression. He said that it was this glorious day when the entire Turk nation stood like a rock side by side its elected and popularly chosen leader, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He said that it was the day when the Turkish people stood guard to protect their rights and elected representatives of the Grand Turkish Assembly valiantly assembled to be the vanguards of democracy in Türkiye.

While conveying felicitation to entire Turkish nation on the 6th Anniversary of those momentous times, he said that the July 15 episode was indeed a great message to the entire world that nothing can harm a democratic order if it is tested and then trusted by the people.

Referring to the cordial relations between both the countries, the Speaker said that As Türkiye is a time-tested friend, Pakistan has always stood side by side its Turkish brothers. while referring to old history of cordial relations between people of both nations, he expressed his hope that upcoming visit of President Recep Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Pakistan during September this year would prove another milestone in the mutual cooperation between both nations. He said that this year also marks the 75th Anniversary of the diplomatic relations among our two modern states.  He also mentioned about his visit to Turkey next week on the invitation of the Speaker of the Turkish Grand Assembly E Mustafa Sentop to participate in the trilateral parliamentary forum of Azerbaijan, Pakistan and Turkey.
