NA Standing Committee on Interior meets

Islamabad, 10th June, 2019: 6th meeting of the Standing Committee on Interior was held today under the Chairmanship of Raja Khurram Shahzad Nawaz, MNA. The Honourable Speaker National Assembly Mr. Asad Qaiseralso participated.

     Fatiha was offered for Shuhada who have lost their lives in a blast in Kharkamar North Waziristan. Proceeding with the agenda, the Regonal Police Officer (RPO) Mardan briefed the Committee about the brutal murder of three brothers who were residents of Ali Jan Kalley, District Charsadda. He informed that after commission of the offence, local police/investigation team along with crime scene van reached at the spot and collected the evidences and sent to Forensic Laboratory Peshawar for analysis besides obtaining Cell numbers and Call Data Records of the accused. The IMEIs numbers of the Cell phones were searched and kept under close observation. He further informed that a Special Investigation Team under the supervision of DSPTangi was constituted for the arrest of accused, which arrested one of the accused Pir Muhammad whereas a facilitator Mr. Rabab Nasim was also arrested from Islamabad Airport on arrival from Malaysia. The Facilitator disclosed during interrogation that he facilitated the principal accused Nadir Khan by providing him with Air Tickets for Malaysia. The RPO informed that interrogation and investigation was in progress and process for issuance of Red Warrant of Mr. Nadir Khan had been initiated. He informed that a Joint Investigation Team has also been constituted under the supervision of SP Investigation, Charsadda to inquire into the incident.

    The RPO Mardan informed that Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already been requested to facilitate arrest and repatriation of the prime accused Nadir Khan, by contacting the relevant authorities of the Government of Malaysia. He informed the Committee that letters to different departments of Federal/Provincials have been issued for providing detail of properties, vehicles, Bank Accounts etc. of accused Mr. Nadir Khan and Mr. Nasir Jamal.

    The Speaker expressed his satisfaction on the pace of investiatgion of the case. He said that exemplary punishement should be awarded to the accused. He suggested for payment of Compensation to the family of the deceased and asked for keeping the Committee posted about the progress on the case. The Commiittee after thorough discussion recommended that         Ministry of Interior may provide all facility for issuance of Red Warrant whereas Ministry of Foreign Affairs may approach the Malaysian High Commission for arrest and repatriation of the prime accused Nadir Khan, by contacting the relevant authorities of the Government of Malaysia. The Inspector General, Police,  KPK may provide all letters             written to various departments of  Federal/Provincials government alongwith progress report. The Committee recommended NADRA as well as Passport and Immigration departments may block the CNIC and Passport of accused Nadir Khan whereas the Government of KPK may provide special compensation to the grieved family and Prosecution Department of KPK may provide legal facilities for giving justice to the grieved family.
