45th meeting of the Standing Committee on M/o Human Rights met today at 02:00 pm in the Committee Room No. 07, 4th Floor Parliament House, Islamabad, under the Chairmanship of Mr. Babar Nawaz Khan, MNA

i.                    Recitation from the Holy Quran;

ii.                  Confirmation of minutes of the previous meeting;

iii.                Comprehensive report/implementation status of the previous recommendation of the Committee;

iv.                 To discuss the Sub-Committee Report for the affectees of Warsak Dam and Tarbela Dam;

v.                   To discuss the progress report of installation of Grid Station at Bhadiana KTS and Khanpur and feeders at Suraj Gali and Swabi Mera, Haripur;and

vi.                 Any other item with permission of the Chair.

The meeting commenced with recitation from the Holy Quran. The Committee confirmed the minutes of the previous meetings.

The Committee deferred the implementation status of recommendations of the Committee.

The Committee also deferred to discuss the Sub-Committee Report for the affectees of Warsak Dam and Tarbela Dam on the request of the Convener, Sub-Committee due to sudden death of his relative; The Committee Members requested the Committee to resolve the issues of the affectees regarding allotment of plots and electricity meters upon which an hon’able Member urged to resolve the issue of non-availability of water to the nation which will be the future problem. She also expressed concern over non-supply of drinking water through the government pipes.

The Committee asked the Chief executive, PESCO about the progress report of installation of Grid Station at Bhadiana KTS and Khanpur and feeders at Suraj Gali and Swabi Mera, Haripur; he apprised the Committee that both the Grid-stations have been approved, 40 poles will be released on 30th April, 2018 to start the work which will be completed within three months.

The meeting was attended by Sayed Essa Nori, Ms. Aliya Kamran Murtaza, Ms. Kiran Haider, Ms. Munaza Hassan, Ms. Surriya Asghar, Ms. Zahra Wadood Fetemi, Ms. Asiya Naz Tanoli, Mr Sajid Nawaz, Dr. Shazia Sobia, Ms. Farhna Qamar, Ms. Amra Khan, Ms. Musarat Rafique Mahesar, Ms. Kishwar Zehra, MNAs and officials of the Ministry of Human Rights and Provincial Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Punjab.
