Islamabad, the 25th July, 2017. 31st meeting of the Standing Committee on M/o Human Rights met today at 11:00 am in the Committee Room of PIPS Parliament Lodges, Islamabad under the Acting Chairperson Ms. Zahra Wadood Fatemi, MNA. The Committee discussed the following agenda:

CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING HELD ON 18TH JULY, 2017

The Committee, after recitation from the Holy Qur’an, decided to confirm the minutes of the previous meeting in its next meeting due to some minor changes.

TO REVIEW IMPLEMENTATION STATUS OF NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR HUMAN RIGHTS ACT, 2012 AND STATUTES, DEALING BY THE MINISTRY

The Committee reviewed the agenda subjected as above. The Secretary, National Commission for Human Rights briefed the Committee on it. The Committee recommended, on a query of an Hon’able MNA, that annual Special Report of the Commission should be provided through the M/o Human Rights to be reviewed in the Committee meeting in accordance with the Section 28 (Page-15) of the NCHR Act, 2012. It was replied that the report was ready and will be submitted to the Ministry of Human Rights. The Committee also recommended that the issue on the agenda should be revised and resolved to sit together with the Chairman, NCHR, Hon’able Minister for Human Rights in its next meeting. 

The Committee was also informed by the Secretary, NCHR that their Rules have been submitted to Establishment Division which are still under process.

The Committee recommended that Geneva Report should be provided to the Committee Members. The Committee also recommended that Standing Committee should be taken on board hence-forth to send at least its one Member with foreign delegation for the forth coming meetings of Geneva and other places.
