Pakistan-Japan PFG met with the Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan

Islamabad: 1st December 2022; Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Youth Affairs and Convener Pakistan-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group and members of the said group held a meeting with the H.E Mr. WADA Mitsuhiro Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan.

Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja warmly welcome the Japanese Ambassador and assured him of Pakistan’s full support to further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.

Members Pak-Japan PFG mentioned that Pakistan highly valued its relations with Japan and such meetings could play a pivotal role in promoting people-to-people contacts and parliamentary relations through parliamentary exchanges. They hoped that existing bilateral relations between the two countries will be further strengthened through mutual cooperation and understanding.

Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja highlighted that Pakistan had huge potential for investment in various sectors and reiterated the full support of the Government of Pakistan to the potential Japanese investors in various sectors. She said that Pakistan was a country with 68 percent of the population comprising youth. She proposed Japanese Ambassador to work together on enriching the youth with modern vocational and technical skills as advancement in modern technology has advanced all sectors including agriculture, textile and manufacturing. She suggested the Ambassador to establish Japanese language learning institutes/ centers in Pakistan.

H.E Mr. Mitsuhiro Wada Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan congratulated the Special Assistant to Prime Minister and Convener Pakistan-Japan PFG Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja on the completion of 70 years of Pak-Japan diplomatic relations. He underscored that Japan attached immense importance to its relations with Pakistan and desired to further diversify those ties through active parliamentary diplomacy. He agreed to focus on strengthening bilateral institutional collaboration; enhance the frequency of exchange of delegations further increasing high-level contacts and exploring new avenues of cooperation.

MNAs Ms. Shaista Pervaiz Malik, Ms. Romina Khurshid Alam, Ms. Zeb Jaffar, Rana Iradat Sharif Khan, Kesoo Mal Kheeal Das, Mehnaz Akber Aziz, Nadeem Abbas and representatives from Ministry of foreign Affairs and Ministry of Commerce attended the meeting.
