Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat meets
Thursday, 18th August, 2022

      45th  meeting of the Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat was held under the Chairpersonship of Ms. Kishwer Zehra MNA, at 2:00 p.m. in Committee Room No. 7, (4th floor) Parliament House, Islamabad.

       The Committee showed displeasure on the absence of the Secretary Cabinet Division and Chairman, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). The Committee directed to ensure their presence in the next meeting otherwise privilege motion would be moved against them.

      Chairman, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) informed the Committee that 29  show cause notices and a fine of Rs. 39.9 million have been imposed on Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs) for continued below standards services.

     Chairman, Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) informed the Committee that ECC of the Cabinet Division revised the ex-refinery price formula of Petrol and Diesel based on platts indexes and de-linked with PSO benchmark price. He apprised the Committee that Federal Government has disallowed import of Petrol and Diesel below Euro-V w.e.f. August 01, 2020 and January 01, 2021 respectively. The Committee also discussed the performance and standard of Pakistan Based Oil Refineries.

      The Committee discussed the “The Federal Employees Benevolent Fund and Group Insurance (Amendment) Bill, 2022 (Government Bill)” in detail and passed the Bill unanimously.
