The National Assembly Session has been prorogued on Monday, the 15th August, 2022 |In exercise of the powers conferred by proviso to rule 4 of the Parliament (Joint Sittings) Rules, 1973, the Hon. Speaker has been pleased to call a Joint Sitting on Thursday, the 20th October, 2022 at 4.00 p.m, instead of Thursday, the 22nd September, 2022 at 4.00 p.m. in the Parliament House, Islamabad.

Standing Committee on Law and Justice meets
Monday, 1st August, 2022

69th meeting of the was held today under the Chairmanship of Ch. Mehmood Bashir Virk, MNA at 02:00 P.M. in Committee Room No. 7, (4th Floor), Parliament House, Islamabad.

The meeting started with a recitation from the Holy Quran. At the very outset, the Committee extended its congratulations to the newly elected chairman and similarly the Hon Chairman welcomed new members of the Committee. The Committee unanimously confirmed the Minutes of previous meetings and deferred agenda No. 2 till its next meeting.

The Committee considered the Bill “The National Accountability (Second Amendment) Bill, 2022 (Government Bill)”.  After detailed deliberations, the Committee unanimously recommended that the Bill may be passed by the Assembly.

The Committee considered the Bill “The Publication of Laws of Pakistan (Amendment) Bill, 2022(Government Bill); After detailed deliberations, the Committee recommended that the Bill may be passed by the Assembly.

The Committee did not consider the Bill “The Constitution (Twenty-sixth Amendment) Bill,2022 (Government Bill); and deferred the same at the request of the Ministry.

Hon. Members/MNAs/Movers Mr. Usman Ibraheem, Ms. Mehnaz Akbar Aziz, Ms. Zahra Wadood Fatemi, Ms. Nafisa Shah, Ms. Aliya Kamran, Minister of State for Law and Justice, Secretary Ministry of Law and Justice, along with their staff attended the meeting
