The National Assembly Session has been prorogued on Monday, the 15th August, 2022 |In exercise of the powers conferred by proviso to rule 4 of the Parliament (Joint Sittings) Rules, 1973, the Hon. Speaker has been pleased to call a Joint Sitting on Thursday, the 20th October, 2022 at 4.00 p.m, instead of Thursday, the 22nd September, 2022 at 4.00 p.m. in the Parliament House, Islamabad.

The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, unanimously elected Mr. Mohsin Dawar, MNA as its new Chairman

A meeting of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs was held today, in the Parliament House, Islamabad.

The Committee was briefed by the Additional Secretary Legislation about the procedure for election of the Chairman.

Ms. Zohra Wadood Fatemi, MNA/Member of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, proposed the name of Mr. Mohsin Dawar, MNA as the Chairman of the Committee. The proposal was seconded by Syed Abrar Ali Shah, Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Behan, Ms. Maiza Hameed, Mr. Muhammad Abu Bakar and Mr. Ahmed Hussain Deharr, MNAs/Members of the Committee. Accordingly, Mr. Mohsin Dawar, MNA was unanimously elected as the Chairman Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs in the National Assembly of Pakistan.

The Chief Whip and Honourable Members of the Committee congratulated the newly elected Chairman and expressed their support and active participation regarding the business of the Committee. The Chair-elect thanked all the participants and appreciated their trust and overwhelming support to him. He assured strong commitment towards meaningful working of the Committee.

The meeting was attended by Ms. Zohra Wadood Fatemi, Syed Abrar Ali Shah, Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Behan, Ms. Maiza Hameed, Mr. Muhammad Abu Bakar and Mr. Ahmed Hussain Deharr, MNAs. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Murtaza Javed Abbasi, the Chief Whip / Minister for Parliamentary Affairs.
