Islamabad: January 10, 2022: Advisor to the Prime Minister on Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Babar Awan called on Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser in Islamabad today. During the meeting, matters related to legislation and agenda for the ongoing session of National Assembly  were discussed.
 
Speaker Asad Qaiser said that Parliament would continue to play its full constitutional role for the resolution of challenges faced by common people and welfare of the people. He said that Parliament had made historic legislation for the welfare of the people. During the discussion it was also agreed that the Opposition would be given ample opportunity to express their views on the Finance Bill. It was also agreed upon that steps would be taken on priority basis for early approval of pending Bills in the Standing Committees. It was also decided that National Assembly sessions would be convened in accordance with the parliamentary calendar.
 
While praising the role of the Speaker, in conducting the proceedings of the House effectively, Adviser to the Prime Minister Dr. Babar Awan said that the Treasury and the Opposition have always been given equal opportunity to participate in the proceedings of the House. He said that all the political parties present in the Parliament should debate important issues of public importance and suggest way forward for their redressal so that the common man could benefit from it.
