NA COMMITTEE ON HOUSE AND LIBRARY EXPRESSED DISPLEASURE ON OVERSTAFFING IN  MNA HOSTEL AND PARLIAMENT LODGES


Islamabad: 2nd December 2021;  while expressing reservation on overstaffing in Parliament Lodges and Government hostel, Islamabad, Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Khan Suri has said that being public representatives it is our responsibility to save the public money and to ensure that every penny to be spent in best interest masses. He said that overstaffing in Parliament lodges and Government Hostel is the wastage of public money and he directed CDA to rationalize the strength of CDA employees. He also directed to strictly follow the rotational policy of the government regarding the posting of CDA staff and officers in Parliament lodges. He also directed CDA to provide briefs, presentations and other documents in Urdu to Committee in the future as Urdu is our national language and it is our responsibility to promote our national language. He expressed these views while chairing the National Assembly Standing Committee on House and Library in Parliament House today.
The Committee also expressed its displeasure on overstaffing issue and they also sought that technical staff be preferred over clerical and non-technical staff. The committee member expressed their concern on non-compliance of complaints of Parliamentarians residing in Parliament Lodges and Government Hostel. CDA member briefed the committee that there are more than two hundred employees of CDA who are performing diverse duties in Parliament lodges and government Hostel. The committee directed Executive Director Polyclinic to establish a dispensary at the Government hostel. Executive director Polyclinic Hospital assured the committee to establish a fully functional dispensary at the government hostel soon.
The committee was also briefed about the establishment of offices for the Chairmen Standing Committee in Parliament Lodges for which 2.2 acres were allocated where 92 chambers for Chairmen of Standing committee will be built. The committee desired that during layout plan should be followed to save public money as much as possible.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad briefed the committee about district government operation against land mafia to vacate the Illegally occupied land of National Assembly Employees Cooperative Housing Society. He also briefed that the high court has canceled the stay order taken by land mafias. The committee directed the CDA to look into the issue and to brief the committee about the cancellation of the layout plan of the other housing societies which has occupied the land of the National Assembly Employees housing society. The committee directed Deputy Commissioner Islamabad to provide details of land matters to CDA to expedite the matter.
The meeting was attended by MNAs Mr. Saleh Muhammad, Ms.Aliya Kamran, Ms. Munawara bibi, Mr.Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Ms. Mussarat Rafique Mahesar, Ms Nasiba Channa, DCO Islamabad and Senior officers of Capital Development. proper dispensary at MNA hostel the committee decided.
