Women role Vital for Nation Building: Says NA Speaker

Islamabad the 27th November, 2014 The Women Parliamentarians Caucus has taken a new initiative by conducting the workshop on Women Policing in Pakistan. This workshop will bring awareness among the policy makers and stake holders to improve the work environment and would advice the Government to introduce relevant policies. We at the National assembly are very pleased to host this workshop which is an important discussion on the role of women police in enforcing law and order. This was stated by the Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq while chairing the concluding session of the  Workshop here at Islamabad. 

Speaking on less representation of women in police, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that since we are a primitive and conservative society so generally families do not send their daughters in police. It is important to motivate educated girls to join this service to improve its image and to reach out to average Pakistani woman who has vital role to play in family and nation building. 

He expressed hope that there will be more women joining police which would help improving over all law and order situation in the country. While acknowledging the role of Women Parliamentarians in legislative process, the Speaker said that they have significantly contributed towards the legislation carried out by the parliament in recent years specially pro-women laws were enacted by their hard work. He said that they would continue their endeavors and propose new legislation to make Women Policing more effective.
