*UPLIFTING THE POOR AND DEPRIVED SEGMENTS THE PRIORITY OF INCUMBENT GOVERNMENT: NA DEPUTY SPEAKER*

 

Islamabad: 9th September 2021 ; According to message received from Vienna Austria Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Khan Suri said that Pakistan attached high importance to further deepening relations with Italy. He also said that  the whole world recognized the  effectiveness of smart lockdown policy of Prime Minister Imran Khan during covid-19. While talking about efforts of the government to uplift the poor and deprived segments of the society, He also said that his Government disbursed Rs.203 Billion (USD1.23bn) to 15 million families through its “Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program”.  He expressed these views while meeting with  Roberto Fico, President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies today in Vienna. 

 

Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri said that peace and stability in Afghanistan were vital for Pakistan and the region. He  also emphasised on an inclusive government in Kabul representing all segments of Afghanistan and respect for fundamental human rights including women rights. He stated that Pakistan could not afford any further instability in Afghanistan leading to more refugees’ influx and other serious security challenges.

 

Roberto Fico, President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies said that Italy attached high importance to its relations with Pakistan. He appreciated Pakistan for its facilitative role in evacuation of nationals of many countries from Afghanistan. He said that Italian government was looking forward to parliamentary delegation from Pakistan in the Pre-COP Parliamentary Meeting of Conference of Parties (COP 26) on climate change which is scheduled to be held on 8-9 October in Rome Italy.
