NUMEROUS SACRIFICES RENDERED BY PAKISTAN IN THE FIGHT AGAINST TERRORISM SUCCESSFULLY TURNED THE TIDE AGAINST IT: NA SPEAKER

Pakistan to continue to take steps for Strengthening Greater Regional connectivity more effective and responsive to the regional needs: Asad Qaiser
 
Pakistan is striving to secure peace and stability through mutual efforts. Being the biggest victims of terrorism, Pakistan was determined to root out the menace. Pakistan had rendered numerous sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and had successfully turned the tide against it. Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser expressed these views while addressing the 4th Conference of Speakers of Parliaments on "Countering Terrorism and Strengthening Regional Connectivity" in Antalya, Turkey according to a message received form Antalya, Turkey. 

Speaker Asad Qaiser while addressing the Conference said that immense security threats are being faced by the Muslim Ummah due to growing Islamophobia in the west. He said that a joint strategy should  be devised and enhanced connectivity should be made to tackle this issue besides brining out the true image of the religion of peace. The Speaker reiterated that Pakistan would continue to take steps towards greater regional connectivity and making the Conference of the Speakers of the Parliaments on Countering Terrorism and Strengthening Regional Connectivity more effective and responsive to the regional needs.

Terming connectivity as one of the foundation stones of the regional peace and prosperity, the Speaker highlighted the progress being made by Pakistan under the flagship China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. He said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), was a game changer not only for Pakistan but the entire region and it only became possible because of Pakistan’s untiring efforts of achieving peace in the region. Speaker also said that Turkey's efforts for maintaining peace are commendable and holding such conferences are mandatory for peace and stability in the region.

While highlighting the atrocities by Indian forces in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJ&K), the Speaker called on the international community to address the prevailing grave human rights and humanitarian situation in IOJ&K  as well as to uphold the inalienable right to self-determination of the Kashmiris.

On the sidelines of the Conference, the Speaker Asad Qaisar was called on Speaker of Turkish Parliament Prof. Dr Mustafa Åžentop in Antalya. Strategies to strengthen the existing Parliamentary ties between both the countries were discussed in the meeting.

The Speakers agreed for enhancing parliamentary exchanges between both the parliaments for further cementing the existing bilateral ties. They also agreed for enhancing bilateral economic cooperation in diverse sectors. He appreciated Turk cooperation for in energy and infrastructure development sectors in Pakistan. Speaker Asad Qaiser appreciated Dr. Mustafa Åžentop for hosting this important regional parliamentary moot.
