NA Standing Committee on Interior meets

Islamabad, 24th October, 2019; 10th meeting of the Standing Committee on Interior was held today under the Chairmanship of Raja Khurram Shahzad Nawaz, MNA in Committee Room No. 7 Parliament House,Islamabad.

2.                 The meeting commenced with recitation from the Holy Quran. The Honorable Minister for Interior updated the Committee that for addressing the issues of the Federal Capital the Government is planning to revisit the structure of CDA, for this purpose people of high stature will be hired to head the CDA Board. The issue of Khokhas will also be addressed and the CDA wants to introduce a uniform design for khokahs for a better look of the Federal Capital. The representatives from Farash Town placed their grievances before the Committee. The CDA briefed the Committee about their plans and efforts to solve the issues faced by the allotees/residents. The Honorable Minister assured to resolve the issues of Farash town on priority basis.
 
3.                The bill titled “the Islamabad Rent Restriction (Amendment) Bill, 2019 (moved by Mr. Asad Umer, MNA) was placed before the Committee. The Committee concluded that the bill is useful, if implemented in true letter & spirit, and recommended that the Bill may be passed by the National Assembly of Pakistan.
 
4.                 Honorable Members/MNAs/Movers Mr. Sher Akbar Khan, Mehar Ghulam Muhammad Lali, Mr. Raza Nasrullah, Khawaja Sheraz Mehmood, Mr. Rahat AmanUllah Bhatti, Malik Karamat Ali Khokhar, Sardar Talib Hassan Nakai, Ms. Nafeesa Inayatullah Khan Khattak, Syed Iftikhar Ul Hassan, Mr. Abdul Qadir Patel, Mr. Asmatullah, Moulana Abdul Akber Chitrali Mr. Asad Umer and the senior officers from the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Law and Justice, ICT Police and CDA, attended the meeting.
