NA Standing Committee on Law and Justice meets

Islamabad, 02nd July, 2019; 17th meeting of the Standing Committee on Law and Justicewas held today under the Chairmanship of Mr. Riaz Fatyana, MNA.

2.   The meeting started with the recitation from the Holy Quran then the Committee decided to proceed with the agenda. The Committee confirmed the minutes of its previous meeting held on 10thJuly 2019, and deferred the implementation status of its previous recommendations.

3.   The Committee consideredthe Bill “The Legal Practitioner and Bar Councils (Amendment) Bill 2018,Moved by Ms.Aliya Kamran MNA”after detail deliberationsthe Committee recommends that the Bill may be deferred till next meeting due to non-availability of Mover.

4.   The Committee considered “The Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2019 (Amendment in Article 1, 51, 59, 106, 154, 175A, 198 and 218) (Moved by Rana Sana Ullah Khan, MNA)”after detail deliberationsthe Committee recommends that that the Bill may be deferred till next meeting due to non-availability of Mover.

5.   The Committee considered “The Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2019 (Amendment in Article 1, 51, 59, 106, 175A and 218) (Moved by Ali Khan Jadoon, MNA)” after detail deliberationsthe Committee recommends that that the Bill may be deferred till next meeting.

6.   The Committee considered “The Child Marriage Restraint (Amendment) Bill, 2019 (Moved by Dr.Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, MNA)” after detail deliberationsthe Committee recommends that that the Bill may be deferred till next meeting due to non-availability of Mover.

7.   The Committee considered “The Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2019 (Amendment in Article 51, 59, 106, 154, 175A and 218) (Moved by MurtazaJavedAbbasi, MNA)” after detail deliberationsthe Committee recommends that that the Bill may be deferred may be deferred till next meeting.

8. Hon. Members/MNAs/Movers Mr. Atta Ullah, Mr.Lal Chand, Mr Muhammad FarooqAzam Malik, Ms.KishwarZehra,Mr.Muhammad Sana Ullah Khan MastikhelMr.Sher Ali Arbab, Ms. Shunila Ruth,Ch.MehmoodBasirVirk,Mr.Usman Ibrahim Ms.Nafeesa Shah,Mr.MurtazaJavedAbbasi, Mr.Ali Khan Jadoon,attended the meeting besides the senior officers from the Ministry of Law and Justice,Secreatry Election Commission of Pakistan and National Database Registration Authority, with their staff, representatives of the Council of Islamic Ideology, attended the meeting.
