NA Standing Committee on Climate Change Meets

A meeting of the Standing Committee on Climate Change was held on 20th October, 2017 in Parliament House. The Standing Committee briefed by Focal Person on Green Pakistan Project. The Committee recommended that third party evaluation and monitoring policy / mechanism should prepare in this regard. The Committee also expressed its concerns over cutting the precious trees on the embassy road Islamabad and also recommended to take strict action against those who are involved into it.

2.       The Standing Committee briefed by Pakistan Agriculture Research Council (PARC) regarding updated working policy of growing seeds. The Committee recommended that Climate Resilient Policy should be prepared in this respect.

3.       The Standing Committee also briefed on the report of addition of the Poisonous Substance to water in the Rawal Dam, Islamabad. The Committee showed dissatisfaction over the briefing regarding Rawal Dam Islamabad and recommended that all departments related to this issue should present a combined report on the same.
