The Standing Committee on Defence Production met today under the Chairmanship of Khawaja Sohail Mansoor, Chairman/MNA of the Committee at 2:00 p.m. in Parliament House, Islamabad.

The Committee offered Fatheha on the Martyred of Lt. Arslan Alam Satti, at Rajgal valley near Pak-Afghan Border. The Committee appreciated and admired the role of Pakistan Army during war against terrorism and assured its full support for this great cause.

The Committee decided to defer agenda item No.i. on the request of the Ministry of Defence Production. However, Khawaja Sohail Mansoor, Chairman/MNA of the Committee informed that it has been principally agreed between Minister for Commerce and Minister for Defence Production that facilitation issues regarding exhibition, being faced by the Defence Production Industries with TDAP should be resolved on priority basis. The Committee unanimously approved that Secretary M/o Commerce, Finance & Revenue, Chairman, TDAP and Chairman FBR would be called in its next meeting.

The Committee decided that all Chief Secretaries, IGPs and DG, Rangers would be invited in the meeting of the Committee to discuss the first right of refusal matter for local Defence Production Industry.

Meeting was attended by Mr. Muhammad Khan Daha, Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, Chudhary Hamid Hameed, Ms. Amra Khan, Ms. Iffat Liaqat, Mr. Shah Jahan Baloch, Ms. Ayesha Gulalai, Ms. Asyia Nasir, Mr. Bilal Rehman, MNAs and besides the senior officers of the MoDP.
