Pakistan Post needs reflective and immediate reforms to meet modern market needs: NA, Standing Committee Communication
Pakistan post office does concentration on postal life insurance to generate revenue
5 to 10% of profit of postal life is used for advertisement and development


Islamabad( ) Pakistan Post needs reflective and immediate reforms to meet modern market needs and Postal life Insurance (PLI) needs special awareness program in our society. Its 5 to 10 % of profit may be used for advertisement. These recommendations have been passed by Standing Committee on Communication. It was told to the Committee that Postal life had only 3% share in market whereas 58% state life and 39 % rest of companies. PLI has excellent opportunity to grow in market. Pakistani society has strapping Islamic values so Religious Scholars do give importance to PLI because its 100% shares are owned the by Govt. of Pakistan. Chairman & the Committee acknowledged that Pakistan Post required abrupt reforms for improvement of Pakistan Post this is market need

Secretary Communications and DG Pakistan Post also wanted such kind of reforms from grass root level. DG said, “We need Funds so that we can do for the betterment of Pakistan Post that we need.” The Committee also paid attention on Audit reports that is meager. Standing Committee said that PLI needed proper advertisement and the officials should pay attention to work on professional and commercial level. It was stressed that 10% of PLI’s profits must be used for advertisement. Members of Committee also emphasized on everlasting co-ordination of the Committee members and concerned officials, such kind of Practice may be accomplished for better results. It was informed to Standing Committee that PLI has won group insurance of Railway and WAPDA just because of its best performance. Standing Committee showed gratitude to the performance of PLI but desired for more attention, to earn billions for the nation.

The Standing Committee accentuate that it is important to implement the recommendation for horizontal results. Committee unanimously recommended to use iron hand to stop corruption.

MNAs Chaudhary Khalid Javaid Warraich, Ms, Maiza Hameed, Dr. Darshan, Mr. Najaf Abbas Sial, Mr. Ramesh Lal, Mr. Salim Rehman, Engr. Hamid-ul-Haq Khalil, Sahibzada Tariq Ullah, Engr. Usman Khan Tarakai and Ms. Shahjehan Muneer Mangrio attended the meeting beside Mr. Muhammad Sadeeq Memon, Frederal Secretary for Communications, Director General & Chairperson of Pakistan Post Office Department and other higher officers were also present.
