Islamabad, 29^th September, 2016: The Standing Committee on Human Rights met today in Committee Room 7, Parliament House, Islamabad under the Chairmanship of Mr. Babar Nawaz Khan, MNA to consider the following agenda:-

i)          Confirmation of minutes of the meeting held on 19^th September, 2016.

            ii)         To review the existing law of Human Organ Transplant.

            iii)        Any other item with permission of the Chair.

 2.        The Standing Committee on Human Rights commenced its proceeding with recitation from the Holy Quran. As the Ministry of Human Rights started its briefing on the agenda item, the Committee was informed that the sitting of the House had been withhold due to lack of quorum therein. In accordance with the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business 1973, the Committee was compiled to suspend its proceeding for ten minutes. Its remained suspended for more than an hour. Therefore, as the House adjourned its sitting, the Chairman, Standing Committee on Human Rights came in the meeting and announced that meeting of the Standing Committee had been postponed and its next date will be announced later on.

 3.        MNAs Ms. Farhana Qamar, Ms. Phyllis Azeem, Ms. Surriya Asghar, Ms. Kiran Haider, Ms. Asiya Naz Tanoli, Dr. Shazia Sobia, Ms. Musarat Rafique Mahesar and Munaza Hassan attended the meeting.
